Scary experience on the road June 5, 2006

*sigh*

Today's my first driving lesson after 1 week and it was a bad experience. Anyway, i cleared about half of my subjects for stage 1 already and today's the BIG day for me to drive in the outside road.

It was quite scary to hefta drive at gear 4 coz i had not been driving for like a week and i can't really remember how to step down my gear and my turning is really bad. I can't seem to be able to keep my car in my own lane and i know, it's very dangerous. So, my instructor had to turn the steering wheel for me in case i hit onto other cars. I just can't gauge the bends well, esp the sharp bend. My poor car went up the curb a few times during the bend and i'm so scared that my hand almost froze. My instructor was a nice and patient guy and it kidda ease me up abit. He wasn't the least angry when i did so many mistakes and he kept telling me 'it's ok, you're doing well'. In fact, i know i'm not doing well.

This is the worst of my driving experience so far. I was at this t-junction. The light turns green and i started to move my car. God knows, One stoopid motorcyclist dashed out and did her right turn without even checking! Oh dear, i didn't know what to do coz i was caught by surprise. I was still thinking whether to clutch in first or brake first. I know it sounds very common sense now, but at tat point of time, i seriously can't think of wat to do. I can't remember what i did and all i can remember is that the engine stalled. The motorcyclist turned her head back and looked at me. Thank goodness i had missed her. My instructor was cursing that motorcyclist about how she tried to send herself to heaven and also, how she passed her license. For me, i was stunned and i almost broke down crying. It was sucha rude shock; i can't imagine what i'm gonna do if i were to really hit on her. The car behind me horned very loudly at me. I panicked and i forgot how i should get my car moving. That car overtook me and the guy gave me a fierce stare. Maybe that's what others meant as, the world is cruel. Everybody makes mistakes and these drivers, are once a learner driver like me. Why can't they just be nicer to us? Is it true that people outside are not willing to forgive ur mistakes? *ponders*

Anyway, i got my instructor to drive me back to the circuit coz i'm really freak out by tat incident and i can't concentrate on my driving already. My instructor agreed after much pleading from me. So, i drove around in the circuit for the last 20 mins or so.

I had to go back to bbdc for driving soon. My instructor says i should have more practice so that i wouldn't be scared of cars in the road. Geez…i'm car-phobic, somehow. Before the lesson ends, he told me that i have the right of way coz i'm going straight. It eased me up abit, but i'm still scared to drive now… -_-

First Driving Practical May 23, 2006

This is a very significant date because i have successfully manouver the big monster! Hahaha! It's kidda scary initially coz i was told to take over the drivers' seat after 10 minutes of lesson on the different parts in the car. My first reaction was "WHAT?! I DUNNO HOW TO DRIVE!!" My dear instructor insisted that i'll soon get the hang out of it with his guidance and POOF! I really managed to get the car going!! HAhahaha! Was so damn happy about it, great sense of achievement! *beams my megawatt smile*

After some forward and reverse exercise and getting use to how i should accelerate, we proceed to changing of gears and turning in bends. My instructor demostrated it to me ONE time and i was told to do the same. My body froze almost immediately. After much comforting and encouragement from him, i started doing my changing of gears, acceleration and turning around the circuit. Made quite alot of mistakes during my first lesson but my instructor was nice enough not to scold me…if not, i'll be so scared lah…luckily, i met a nice instructor.

Having my second practical session on 24 May 06. Wish me luck ppl…i hope i dun stay stagnant at 3 subjects! Off to bed now…bless me! =)

1/4 Theory lessons down! (: May 21, 2006

To date, i've completed Basic Theory 1.01! It was abit boring going through the theory since i've passed it. Nevertheless, it did refresh my memory since i didn't really quite remember wat i've studied. Seriously, i dunno how i pass my BTT. It must be pure luck. =P

Actually, the lesson wasn't as boring as i thought i would be. The lesson was full of video clips which is good in a way since i would be put to sleep easily if the instructor were to read directly off the book (if he wanna read off the book, might as well ask me stay at home and read myself rite…haha!) The video clips were pretty scary actually. The big monstrous vehicle is pretty vulnerable in the roads out there. Looking at the damage which car accidents can cause to the car, it's quite scary trying to imagine u're driving in THAT particular car. Aiyoo…dunno why i'm learning driving also. I hope things wouldn't turn out tat bad for me. I still prefer to be a passenger rather than driving the big monster myself. Rs assured me that after i attended the first driving lesson, i hope it's true! Don't really wanna dread myself to BBDC. Hahahaha!

HEh…finally after dunno-how-many-mths, i've decided to sign up for driving with BBDC. Kidda scary with the thoughts tat i'm gonna manouver a BIG monster on the road. Oh gawd…i hope i won't endanger other road users lives…hahaa!

Well of coz, i didn't go BBDC alone. If not, i'm bound to be a moron wondering what to do, where to go, how to do. The 4Ws and 1H; sounds like some English lessons? Hahaa! Pray for me! Now tat i've signed up for it, i wanna get my license ASAP and yesss…A-S-A-P! My friends hef been buzzing me about my license and they say it's taking me donkey years to complete it…hahaha! What are they so excited anyway? I doubt i'm gonna drive in the scary roads out there, it's freaking scary lah!! Imagine u're only learning in the circuit and better still, the peaceful roads outside. If i'm gonna drive on my own n bring them to places around singapore, bound to go into expressways n stuffs in which the cars travel at hell speed. I mean, u get to see more of those reckless drivers and i'm gonna be so freaked out la…scary scary scary! >.<

Nevertheless, i want to get my license before my birthday! That will be 1 of the best present i'll give myself on my 19th birthday! Wish me luck!! =)
